You will need...
Materials: 75 – 100 gms x dk (ply) or Aran (10ply) pure wool.
Needles: This hat is worked in the round – 4.00 or 4.50mm double pointed needles
(or a 4.00 or 4.50mm x 40cm long circular needle).
Sizes: Head size is problematic and often unrelated to age. Rib stitch is forgiving and flexible but please select instructions based on size not age. Adjust needle size if necessary to suit your own tension.
Small – young children – 4.00mm needles, 75gm dk wool (recommended)
Medium – older child/ small adult – 4.50mm needles, 75gms of selected wool.
Large – adult man – 4.50mm needles, 100gm of selected wool.
